What this site is
In 2025 this site was the home of the Wits Radiology Breast Imaging Symposium. It has since been rebuilt as a broader academic front door: it points learners and researchers to the right places, lists upcoming academic meetings and keeps a record of past ones.
It is deliberately small. Where another site is the proper home for something, this one links to it rather than repeating it.
Official information
This is not the official website of the University of the Witwatersrand. The University publishes official information about its Division of Diagnostic Radiology — part of the Department of Radiation Sciences in the School of Clinical Medicine — including postgraduate applications and departmental contacts.
WIRS
The Wits Interventional Radiology Society runs its own website for interventional radiology education, research and events, including the 2026 Neuroradiology & Neurointervention Symposium. The two are separate websites that link to each other.
